Riverspace, a nonprofit arts organization in the Hudson River Valley, produced a CD featuring musicians affiliated with the center. While working with the organization to create the Riverspace brand, Applebaum was also enlisted to develop a title for the CD. Creative direction centered on a primary goal of the organization: to build a new arts facility with a commercial component to fund arts programming. The title Breaking Ground announces the mission to supporters and potential donors. It also alludes to the innovative artistic vision of Riverspace, bringing art of the highest level to its audience.
